New River Cruise Ships for 2027

Last updated October 2026. New-ship dates and deployments come from cruise line announcements and industry coverage and can change. Where a detail has not been announced, we say TBA.

This is our running list of new river ships scheduled for 2027. It starts from the 21 ships CLIA highlighted in its October 2026 outlook and adds each line’s own announcements. Rivers and dates are only shown where a line or reliable coverage has stated them; otherwise the cell says TBA. Inaugural dates can change, so treat months as targets rather than guarantees.

New River Ships Debuting in 2027

Published coverage names 19 of CLIA’s 21 ships; reports of the outlook also point to new American Cruise Lines vessels, which have not been tied to specific rivers. The line’s fleet plan names American Anthem as its 2027 riverboat, alongside two Patriot Class small ships. Some lines in the table, such as Saga, TUI, Riviera Travel, Amadeus and Century, sell mainly in the UK and Europe — ask our cruise advisors which can be booked from the U.S.

Already on the Way for 2028

• Scenic Spirit II — Scenic, Mekong, early 2028.
• American Grace plus two more riverboats — American Cruise Lines, U.S. rivers, 2028 (per the line’s October 2025 fleet plan).
• Two sister ships to Century Diamond — Century Cruises, Europe, 2028.
• Viking — reported to be taking delivery of 18 more river ships by 2028; names and rivers TBA.
• Celebrity River Cruises — ten ships ordered in total; ships after Compass and Seeker TBA.
